Online bidding craze

auction bargin ipod xbox cheap PS3

eBay stirred up a storm of the online shopping experience. It is just as much a new techno-household name as google and msn. Many others tried to copy the model, and many failed to gain the attention and recognition beyond what eBay had already established.

A new Australian based online selling/bidding site has been created for online bargain hunters. The PanetBid team has created a site especially for Australians to trade online, and because it'ss only in Australia, it'll be easier to find what you want that is actually available to you.

Never fear, they do have websites for other countries as well - our closest neighbour should try out planetbid.co.nz.

It's not purely copying eBay either. It has a cool real time count down system that allows you to view the items that are about to expire, uses a bid credit system to keep the trading fair, allowing only the active members to participate in selling and bidding. You can also buy credits to bid for the items, but then again I fail to see how this could be 'competitive' in the online bidding business. Perhaps someone who understands it more can tell me.

Chicago: The Musical

Went to see Chicago the other day. The Australian production for readers from other countries. It was... good. But it wasn't great.

Perhaps I am being a little more critical because I knew the musical, have seen other productions and I thought they could just do a little bit more.

No doubt the singing and the dancing were fantastic. No doubt the live band/orchestra did a great job. The cast were wonderful.

Stage design was what lacked, and perhaps a little more on the costumes too.

The only time we had some colour and light were during the trial, but I thought a lot more could have impressed more.

I wanted to see the bling, the bang and the dazzle, as what Chicago should have been. There needed to be a lot more wow, and a lot more ooh and ahhhs. A lot more sparkle.

Or am I just being a traditionalist?

The Weather, and lifestyle

You know, it's getting a bit cold in Sydney, although I am probably feeling it a lot more having recently came back from Bali and Port Douglas, where the temperature is at an average of 29C (84F).

A few friends of mine are in Arizona and they said that currently it is around 80F (26C) there at the moment, and it'll slowly get warmer. Sydney in comparison isn't too bad but why does it feel so cold??

You know what? At the moment we have been house hunting, and have been looking at pros and cons of different styles of housing and how comfortable we can be in them. I really like to have a nice little backyard where we can sit and enjoy the sun and watch Kitty play. It would be perfect for the current weather. These friends in Arizona (don't ask me where, I have no idea) said that's what they like too, and now that it's actually quite a decent temperature it's really nice out.

They sent me a couple of links on home design as we were talking about how we could design a home to suit our lifestyle, and I really like some of their designs! A nice little garden (something not too big so you don't have to spend hours to clean up) is a nice touch to our lives don't you think?

Unfortunately I am going to have to stick to whatever I can afford at the moment seeing that I can barely just pay off the home loan. (sigh)

Anyways, back to house hunting.
